Summer Time's not over yet!
August is Family Fun Month and with plenty of days until September, there is still lot's of summer fun to be had. With school fast approaching you may think that summer has passed you by. There are still plenty of things you can do to enjoy what's left of summer. We have compiled a short list of things to do that can take away your summertime blues. Take a look.
1.) Take a Motorcycle Ride. Whether you take a scenic ride or a scoot around town, taking "the Bike out" can be a relaxing adventure.
2.) Visit an Amusement Park. Most Parks stay open at least until Labor day and sometimes after. What a fun way to spend some time with the family.
3) Go Camping. A weekend of making s'mores, telling scary stories around the campfire and throwing the frisbee might be just what the family needs to relax before school begins.
4.) Star Gazing. Even if you don't have a telescope, laying on your back and watching the stars can be a fun time for you and the family. There are also plenty of apps on Android and iTunes that you can point at the sky and know what stars you are looking at.
5.) Go on a treasure hunt. Make a list of items to find and split the family up in to teams. Come up with an idea of what the team that gets the most on the list wins.
6.) Take a Ferry Ride. Whether you are going to the Statue of Liberty, rolling to the intercoastal in Fort Lauderdale or anywhere in between, a Ferry ride could be just what the family needs to enjoy a relaxing day out.
7.) Miniature Golf. You may not be ready for the PGA, but a fun game of Putt Putt could be just what the family needs.
8.) Zoo or Aquarium. There are plenty of things to see at the Zoo or the Aquarium. A day of family fun mixed in with a little education is never a bad idea.
9.) Horseback Riding. Most of us live within an hour of a place that provides horseback riding either through trails or on a track.
10.) Go to the Beach. There are still plenty of warm days left to take that trip to the beach. Whether you are going for the day or the weekend you can find lots of things to do. Build a sandcastle or make picnic lunch.
These are just a few suggestions from the crew at Twin Peaks. You may have a couple of your own ideas. We would love to hear them. Regardless, get out there and enjoy the rest of summer before its time to pack lunches and get the little ones on the bus.
